International Porta Mondial Partners Meeting 2017

From November 9-11, 2017, Porta Mondial met franchise partners from Germany and Spain during a joint meeting in Mallorca. The venue was the idyllic Finca hotel “Sa Bassa Rotja” in Porreres.

The participants at the 2017 international partners meeting of the Porta Mondial franchise group in Mallorca.

CEO Joachim Semrau welcomed the ca. 40 participants, and presented the new corporate structure of the franchise system.

“With Homes & Holiday AG, a new holding company was created, under which our three business areas, traditional real estate brokerage under the umbrella brand  Porta Mondial,  holiday rental under the name  Porta Holiday  and the  Places Publishing House  will be restructured.”

The participants very much welcomed the fact that the individual areas which had previously been presented separately are now displayed on the same website,homes-holiday.com.

Success story 2017

The management could only report positively for the current year: Record sales in Mallorca, a 37% increase in sales of the entire group, and three new locations in Germany show that the system has successfully placed itself on the market after years of development work.

Using the cross-selling potential

Networking” was the motto of the event. The franchise partners worked together with headquarters during workships to come up with proposals for how cross-border cooperation between Germany and Spain can be strengthened, and how the synergies between real estate brokerage and holiday rental can be used optimally.

Rustical Finca charm and modern themes – The management presented their strategies for 2018 in the conference room of the rural hotel, Sa Bassa Rotja.

Successful networking

Rolf Nejmann compared clumsy cold-calling according to the motto “I’m the best” with “Karlsson on the roof”, and recommended, rather like “Pippi Longstocking”, focusing on the premise of ‘friends = recommendations’.

The second half of the day was devoted to external networking, i.e. approaching potential customers. Partners from Germany and Spain presented their success stories and gave other partners valuable suggestions for their daily work.

Rolf Neijman who, as an external speaker, gave an entertaining lecture on the subject “referral marketing”, closed the meeting.

Using entertaining associations from the Astrid Lindgren books, he advised his auditorium, rather intelligently, to play “on tape” like billiards, in other words to rely on third-party recommendations instead of addressing the target directly.

An interesting topic, which was also actively discussed by the paricpants during the evening meal which followed afterwards.

Highlight – experience Mallorca from above

On the second day, the participants went up into the air together. Early in the morning, in bright weather, they headed for Manacor, where two gigantic captive balloons were already waiting for the estate agents.

The franchise partners hovered over the landscape of Majorca for more than an hour – an unforgettable experience that also enthused the Porta Mallorquina partners, some of whom had been living on the island for decades. This was a crowning end to two days during which there was a lot of laughter, discussion and learning.
